Syrah, Grenache Rouge
Luberon red wines were firmly put on the map in the 1990’s by Domaine Garrelle’s nearby neighbour, Peter Mayle – author of  “A Year in Provence”. The appellation now well known for very drinkable big wines at a good price, and perfect for those long sunshine lunches before an afternoon siesta. Luberon is indeed a most wonderful place and in fact the whole appellation is a National Park.
The wine is a blend of 60% Syrah, 40% Grenache, with a short maceration and maturation in stainless steel tanks. A wine made just to enjoy in the moment. A deep, inky red colour with a nose of ripe berries, olives and Mediterranean herbs – you can almost hear the cicadas singing!
On the palate full bodied with soft tannins and an explosion of red and black fruits, spice and herbs. Soft and succulent with a long sensual finish, this wine takes you to somewhere hot and relaxing!
BBQ perfection or with any red meats, big salads and nice cheeses.  Even if you are at home in the rain, just take your mind on holiday with a glass of this wine!
