This impressive second wine of 5CC Chateau Lynch Bages aptly demonstrates the wisdom of buying the “second wines” of the great Bordeaux Chateaux from the best vintages – if you wanted the first wine from Lynch Bages 2016 then be prepared to pay upwards of £100/b! The blends of both wines are similar i.e 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot and the balance of “seasoning grapes” Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.

Echo de Lynch Bages is real classic Claret –  generous, racy and full bodied but a wine that never loses its warmth and charm. Dark cherries, plum spices and cedarwood plus subtle oak (15 months in old French barrels) and supple silky tannins.
