Lacoste-Borie is the “second” wine of Grand-Puy-Ducasse and is the most favoured claret consumed throughout the gentlemen’s clubs of London. It is also highly regarded within the wine trade as a rare example of quality Pauillac at a very drinkable price! Traditional Grand Cru Classé winemaking based on quality not cost i.e. hand picking, prized terroir, 3 weeks maceration and 15 months in French oak results in a wine of purity and elegance.
Dark ruby in colour, this wine has a super developed nose of ripe fruits, spice and toast. On the palate rich ripe fruit of blackcurrants and black cherries supported by charming tannins resulting in a wine of balance and polish.
From the highly regarded Bordeaux vintage of 2016, this wine is only now starting its drinking window and will continue to give pleasure right into the next decade. Perfect pleasure for roast dinners, leather chairs and cigars!
